Alltudion yn Ol?

Ers y cyhoeddiad fod y BBC am ddiddymu'r Cwpan Cenedlaethol, mae'r Western Mail wedi bod yn arwain yr ymgyrch i alluogi'r Alltudion i chwarae yng Nghwpan Cymru unwaith eto.

Er hyn, dydi aelod blaenllaw o Fwrdd Rheoli y Rhyl ddim yn hapus gyda'r cynlluniau. Yn ol Doug Mortimer, Prif Gyfarwyddwr y Clwb:

"The feelings of Rhyl Football Club are that if the 'big three' are admitted back into the Welsh Cup it could sound the death knell of the Welsh Premier. The timing of the announcement of this idea is, to say the least, insensitive, coming 24 hours after the announcement that the FAW Premier Cup will cease to exist after this season.
"This is denying clubs revenue, which is much-needed because we don't get the support of the FAW. The league will also probably be losing a place in Europe and the benfits that brings - and to lose possible money from the Welsh Cup is a further blow to ambitious clubs in Wales. We honestly feel clubs will turn around and say 'What is the point?' The incentive for clubs to work harder to improve the stadia, to improve conditions for the spectators and to improve playing performances will disappear if we don't get the support from the FAW in some form or another.
"Directors are all part-time, we all have other lives to lead, and we're having to work harder and harder to meet the whims of the FAW."

Er mod i'n deall sefyllfa Mr Mortimer i raddau, mae 'na ffordd llawer mwy positif i edrych arni hefyd. Fel cefnogwr Bangor, braf byddai edrych ymlaen am drip i'r Cae Ras ar ol dod allan o'r het i wynebu Wrecsam, neu gem gartref broffidiol i'r clwb yn erbyn Caerdydd. O bosib hefyd, byddai'r gystydleuaeth yn ennyn diddordeb y cyhoedd gyda'r wobr o le yn Ewrop i'r enillwyr.

I raddau helaeth, byddai gem yn erbyn un o glybiau mwyaf Cymru yn golygu llawer iawn mwy o arian drwy' giat, yn arbennig wrth gysidro fod y costau teithio mor isel o'u cymharu gyda gem yn Nwyrain Ewrop er enghraifft.

Er hyn, y peth pwysicaf am rwan ydi fod David Collins o'r gymdeithas Bel-Droed yn eistedd lawr gyda Michel Platini i drafod y mater hon unwaith ac am byth. Mae hon yn stori sy'n dod i'r fei bob ychydig fisoedd, a mae angen ateb os oes dyfodol i'r alltudion yn Ewrop fel un o gynyrchiolwyr Cymru neu'i peidio.
